An undertrial Covid patient has managed to escape from Covid Centres twice in two successive days. However, he was nabbed once again like his first attempt.
Salim Mian, a Covid positive patient escaped from Chandrapur Covid Care centre on Sunday. Later, Police found him at his Khupilong residence and sent him to GB Covid Centre. Salim Mian escaped from GB Covid Centre on Monday – but nabbed at Udaipur Rail Station on the same day.
Police took Salim for Covid test and he was found Covid positive. Later, Police took him, once again, to Chandrapur Covid care Centre.
According to Salim, after escaping from GB Covid Centre, he boarded a train and arrived at Udaipur Station today evening – he remained unlucky for the second time, Police picked up him.
Salim’s successful attempt to jump out of the GB Covid centre has raised many an eyebrow relating to security arrangements in Covid centres.
An on-duty junior doctor was assaulted by relatives of one patient at GBP hospital trauma centre in Agartala on Sunday for an alleged delay in attending the patient. Sources said, three patients with severe injuries were admitted in the hospital within the gap of four to five minutes.
The on-duty doctor who was alone in the ward had to take care of all the patient and he decided to attend to the most critical patients. As a result, treatment of a patient got delayed. According to the doctor, the patient was bleeding but his condition was not that much serious compared to other patients.
However, the patient party got aggrieved as the doctor was delaying and harassed the doctor. The incident triggered serious resentment among the junior doctors. The doctors on Monday morning met in a deputation at the office of the Medical Superintendent and Principal of Agartala Government Medical College.
Speaking to the media, the doctors also urged for tight security in the workplace.
